Well, I only have high speed internet at my sister's place, so I can usually only download things for 1 or 2 days max.

Why when I'm downloading using a torrent does my download speed keep going down to like below 1 kb/s?

You receive these files from other people instead of a central server. The people who are only uploading in a torrent situation are called "Seeders". These are the people who already have the file downloaded. There are also "Peers", who are people who are also downloading the file. If they have more of the file than you do, they might also be uploading some of it to you. Some people are Peers without uploading anything, and this is generally frowned upon. |
What this means, for you, is that there are too many Peers and not enough Seeders. The seeders have to supply the file to ALL of the peers. At the same time that they're on. So you won't always get the best speeds.

thats the problem with torrents......no seeders
thats why i always find stuff that has alot of seeders like 100+
